Getro Elize has been an active and committed force in the community, working alongside local nonprofits, community organizations, and neighborhood leaders to expand access to resources, opportunity, and support for residents.
Through these partnerships, he has helped distribute 750 laptops to community members interested in computer literacy and entrepreneurship, provide 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, and connect senior citizens with food assistance programs. He has also helped feed more than 4,500 families by supporting local food distributions, ensuring that residents facing hardship could access essential groceries and meals.
His work has also included supporting unhoused community members with housing resources, helping residents enroll in medical care and assistance programs, and contributing to Project Food Box, which delivers food to individuals living with chronic illness or disabilities.
Getro has also focused on strengthening families and supporting vulnerable community members. He has helped coordinate baby expos that provide mothers with essentials such as breast pumps and car seats, supported assistance efforts for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and engaged recently released individuals through development workshops and support meetings. In addition, he has worked to create positive pathways for young men by building partnerships with local fraternities.
His record reflects a hands-on commitment to service, practical solutions, and meeting people where they are.
